Why I’m Never Cancelling My Costco Membership

Why I’m Never Cancelling My Costco Membership

I love Costco.

Costco is like a reliable friend who meets your expectations, every single time. No surprises, just quality products and unbeatable prices. Even as I write this, I’m filling with excitement, scheming for reasons why my next trip needs to happen..like now.

From discount appliances to wholesale groceries and affordable gas, it is a wonderful way to save a ton of money while completing all your shopping needs. Plus, no Costco run is complete without a visit to their food court. Oh no, did you “accidentally” leave with a churro in one hand and pizza in the other? Yeah, us too.

While their cheapest membership, Gold Star, has an annual fee of $60, it definitely pays for itself! Here are a few membership benefits that might just lure you in.

1. Costco gas is cheaper than most, if not all, competing gas stations in your area

With gas prices steadily increasing day-by-day, one of the easiest ways to save money is to fill up at Costco! It’s an expense you’re already making, why not save a few bucks a week.

2. Save money on bulk with non-perishable items

If you’re living on your own, it may not be ideal to buy 5lbs of fresh salmon or 2 gallons of milk. However, there are plenty of other things you can purchase in bulk that will save you time and money in the long run. Paper towels, detergent, kitchen appliances, and clothes are good purchases. Items with a long shelf-life like cereal and liquor are also great examples!

3. Buy movie tickets and have money leftover for popcorn

Popular movie theater chains like AMC and Regal Entertainment offer discount movie tickets in packs of 4 or more. Plan ahead and buy movie tickets that you can cash in at your local participating theater.

4. Their return policy is unbeatable

If you have your eyes set on a new appliance or gadget, but don’t know if it’s worth the price...purchase it at Costco and give it a test! They have a 90-day return policy on electronics, even if it’s been slightly used or opened.

5. And lastly, samples galore

If you’ve ever wandered the aisles at Costco, I’m sure you’ve stumbled upon a free sample or two. It’s a lovely shopping perk and you may end up discovering a new favorite food!
